Overview
UI/UX Designer Austin, TX (Hybrid) – Contract: Long-Term. Eligibility: Must be local to the Austin area and able to work onsite 3 days per week. Must be able to work on a W2 basis (no C2C, 1099, or third-party vendors). Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa transfer. We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to lead initiatives that improve the accessibility, usability, and responsiveness of large-scale eligibility systems. This role requires expertise in user-centered design, accessibility standards, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Minimum Requirements to Be Considered
- 4+ years designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems.
- 4+ years creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies with Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- 4+ years applying UX design principles (hierarchy, contrast, alignment) for responsive and accessible design.
- 4+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into intuitive design solutions.
- Experience supporting Agile development cycles and iterating from sketch to high-fidelity prototypes.
- Strong ability to document and present design solutions to diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research and journey mapping to identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual assets that align with accessibility guidelines and branding.
- Conduct usability testing and apply best practices in responsive design and SEO optimization.
- Collaborate with teams (including Code for America) to ensure design standards meet business objectives.
- Support design for complex systems, including government, healthcare, or finance applications.
- Present complex data and AI/ML insights through effective data visualization.
- Advocate for user-centered design and inclusive, WCAG-compliant solutions.
