We are looking for a Senior User Researcher to play a critical role in defining the ongoing strategic opportunities for our UGC products, with an emphasis on generative and exploratory research methods. You will be at the helm of continuous evolution and impactful change, guiding vision and strategy grounded in deep user understanding to chart the course for future innovation. What You Will Do

Help identify the questions we need to answer to move strategy and execution forward. Your insights will inform company strategy, product experiences, and long‑term roadmaps. Advocate for and develop the strategic direction of the UGC brands, acting as a thought leader and cross‑functional collaborator with brand and team leadership. Design, scope, and run user research to learn latent and unmet needs of Scribd and Slideshare users through generative, iterative, and evaluative methods. Assist multiple product managers, designers, and cross‑functional stakeholders with a wide range of research needs, from large and generative to small and tactical. Make research findings relevant and impactful through crafted insights, decks, stories, videos, and testimonials; foster team engagement in studies and a shared knowledge of research output to drive informed decision making. Build and implement innovative user research processes to meet product delivery goals. Leverage company‑provisioned AI tools to maximize efficiencies in research processes while maintaining appropriate human oversight. About You

5+ years of hands‑on experience designing and conducting market/product/design research with demonstrated impact on roadmaps, design outcomes, and team processes. Ability to navigate ambiguous opportunity spaces to extract key information and plot a clear path forward. Comprehensive knowledge of qualitative UX research methods and quantitative experience for conducting surveys at scale. BA/BS or higher in Psychology, Social Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Proven ability to use human‑centered insights to answer business questions. Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead cross‑functional brainstorming and strategic thought partnership. Comfort owning a slice of the research roadmap and prioritizing workload amid shifting priorities. Strong presentation skills with a creative and compelling storytelling style. Demonstrated ability to work quickly and handle multiple research studies concurrently. Compensation and Benefits

At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Pay ranges are based on local benchmarks for each role, level, and location. San Francisco is a high geographic market in the United States. In California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $122,500 and $191,000. In the United States outside California, the range is between $101,000 and $181,000. In Canada, the range is between $128,000 CAD and $169,500 CAD. The salary range reflects the level at which the job has been scoped; higher or lower ranges may apply for different levels. This position is eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
