The Role: This role is responsible for assisting in all operational duties of the Community Manager, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, marketing, and overseeing the community and associates in the Community Manager's absence.
The incumbent in this role must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for our residents and the workforce.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
- Experience with the DC inclusionary zoning program is highly desired.
- Excellent communication skills and dedication to customer service.
- Solid bookkeeping and rent collection experience.
- Thorough understanding of landlord/tenant law.
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing Laws.
- Superior interpersonal skills; able to work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible.
- Resourceful and organized.
- Solid computer knowledge: Windows (Word, Excel), internet, and email.
- Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.
Key Accountabilities
Resident Relations + Customer Service
- Manage resident satisfaction and retention by responding to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner and addressing service issues.
- Serve as a resource center for residents on community living and rent payment considerations.
- Organize resident appreciation and retention events.
- Maintain secured confidential files for residents.
- Answer phones, greet walk-ins, and manage foot traffic.
- Assist with leasing duties, including touring prospective residents.
- Handle all property monies: collect, post, deposit rents, security deposits and other income.
- Review resident files to determine unpaid balances, communicate with residents, and enforce lease agreements.
- Assist with Monthly Projection Reporting, inspect vacancies, prepare make-ready apartments and models; inspect property for policy violations, repairs, and landscaping needs.
- Meet regularly with Community Manager and Regional Manager to discuss performance.
- Other duties as assigned by Community Manager.
- Maintain a service-oriented environment with professional appearance and attitude.
- Oversee property operations and staff in the Community Manager’s absence.
- Support Leasing Consultants in leasing activities and ensure Fair Housing guidelines are followed.
- Under Compliance and Community Manager direction, manage compliance file maintenance where applicable.
Adherence to Property Management Rules, Regulations and Guidelines
- Conduct all business in accordance with company policies, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, and all applicable laws.
- Manage compliance file maintenance under Compliance and Community Manager direction where applicable.
- Follow established eviction procedures, including notices and court representations when required.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Essential staff role; report to work and follow safety and business protocols.
- Frequent sitting and walking; repetitive computer use.
- May work on an elevated site; uneven ground.
- Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, and pulling.

Compensation
Compensation Range: $28 - $30 USD
