Overview
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center invites applications for a Comprehensive Optometrist with a focus on dry eye in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye care for adult patients, including annual exams, ocular disease management, refractions, and same-day emergency care.
- Diagnose and treat dry eye disease using advanced therapies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance dry eye services.
- Support the academic mission: teach, which may include clinical or didactic teaching for medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral scholars.
- Perform clinical duties at OSUWMC facilities and other assigned sites; participate in divisional, departmental, and college committees and professional organizations.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a United States accredited School of Optometry.
- Passed all parts of the NBEO exam.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Ohio.
- Completed a residency in ocular disease or comprehensive care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing dry eye disease.
- Training or certification in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy and other advanced dry eye treatments is desirable.
