Position Overview
The Division of Student Affairs is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Student Videographer to capture, edit, and produce video content that highlights student life, events, and resources. This role is ideal for students interested in storytelling through video production, digital media, and creative marketing. The Student Videographer will work closely with staff and student leaders to create engaging videos that inform, inspire, and connect the campus community.
Key Responsibilities
- Film Student Affairs programs, events, and campaigns on campus.
- Edit video content for social media, websites, digital signage, and promotional purposes.
- Collaborate with staff to develop storyboards, scripts, and concepts that align with project goals and university branding.
- Ensure all videos are polished, accessible, and delivered on time.
- Maintain and organize video equipment, footage, and project files.
- Capture candid student experiences and highlight the student experience of the university community.
- Support special multimedia projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.
- Experience with videography equipment (DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting, audio equipment).
- Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Strong creative eye for storytelling, framing, and composition.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Up to date on trending video styles that will work well for social media
- Availability to work weeknights and weekends
- Must have reliable transportation to work and campus locations and a valid driver's license
Physical Requirements or Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 20lbs and stand on feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to sit at computer for editing for shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Photography or motion graphics experience a plus.
- Film or mass comm major preferred
Required Documents to Attach
- Must submit resume, cover letter, and samples of videos - preferably around promoting an event
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Must know how to operate a DSLR camera
- Must know how to use lighting, mics, gimbal, etc.
- Able to have a quick turnaround time and manage multiple projects at one time
