Music Jobs US is hiring: Music Program Manager in Portland

Overview

This role will facilitate responsive music programs for youth and young adults ages 9-24 in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers with satellite Program Partners and at our studios in 1-1 sessions, small groups, rock camps, and other situations as needed. We provide program participants with engaging, relevant, and challenging experiences in music to promote the development of social and emotional skills and amplify youth voices. Our facilitators meet youth where they are and adapt their approach to the unique needs and abilities of individual youth while balancing the collective needs of the youth community, setting goals to support youths in writing and recording music. This role does not manage other staff positions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate responsive music programs for youth and young adults ages 9-24 in a variety of settings as described above.
• Meet youth where they are and adapt approach to individual needs while balancing the group’s needs; support youths in writing and recording music.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience working with youth in roles such as educator, mentor, or facilitator.
• Working knowledge of ProTools, Logic, GarageBand, or Ableton.
• Skilled in and able to teach 2 or more traditional rock instruments (preferred).
