Communications & Public Affairs Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a communications & public affairs manager with 4 or more years of experience for a contract to hire role for our pharmaceutical client. This is hybrid in Washington DC; 3 days onsite 2 days work from home. This is a great role that offers the opportunity to work with a results-oriented and dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the communications and public affairs work to support various projects related to company's policy, legislative, and regulatory agenda.
  • Support the planning and execution of keycommunications initiatives by providing logistical assistance and helping to organize meetings, conferences, and events as directed by the SVP.
  • Leads the drafting and development of diverse editorial content, including byline articles, op-eds, presentations, publications, blog posts, educational materials, newsletter articles, website copy, letters to the editor, advertising content, social media posts, and other communications as assigned.
  • Provides support in drafting press releases, official statements, social media content, responses to media inquiries, and other communications materials as needed.
  • Manages external vendors involved in related projects, including public affairs firms, researchers, printers, designers, and other partners as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Political Science, Health and Science, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience navigating policy and regulatory landscapes, with a strong understanding of the consumer healthcare sector, including its key challenges and emerging opportunities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to craft a wide range of content tailored to diverse audiences, from highly technical experts to those with basic literacy levels.
  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a dynamic working environment.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years experience in communications, government relations, healthcare policy, or communications/PR agency work.

Employment Type: Contract to hire

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
