PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, B2B FOOD & BEVERAGE

Business is booming in our food and beverage practice, and we need full-time B2B help at an associate director level. If you love the food trade, forming strategies that build clients’ bottom lines and winning earned media in the trades, we want to meet you. As a PR associate director, you’ll bring your experience in the food & beverage trades to help build strong PR programs for our national clients. You’ll use your food trade background to inspire clients with ideas that generate excitement, create clear messaging, and strengthen relationships through proven results and shared goals. Working closely with the creative team, you’ll find innovative ways to engage key audiences. From trade media outreach to content planning and development, you’ll support teammates in taking public relations to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Build PR programs for national clients in the food & beverage sector.
• Engage with trade media and develop always-on opportunities for clients.
• Collaborate with the creative team on messaging, content planning and development.
• Support teammates in delivering strong public relations results.
• Contribute to crisis communications planning and client-facing reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Has 12 or more years of agency experience and a background in journalism, marketing or communications.
• Brings significant experience supporting the food trade industry.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, strategic mindset and drive to deliver results.
• Understands how to engage trade media and develop opportunities for clients.
• Familiar with PR tools (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision, PR Newswire), reporting tools, and using data + analytics for client reports.
• Maintains current relationships with national and regional food trade media contacts.
• Collaborative, driven, and able to lead while mentoring others.
• Experience with PR budgeting and drafting scopes for clients.
• Passion for partnering with the creative team and turning big ideas into impactful campaigns.
• Capable of delegating, coaching, and also rolling up sleeves to contribute.
• Experienced in PR writing, pitching, media relations, and has exposure to influencer marketing.
• Experience with crisis communications from a client-facing perspective (traditional and social media).

Hours / Location

This is a full-time position. Ideal candidates are expected to be on-site in our Milwaukee or Chicago office for occasional team or client meetings.

Salary

Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

Salary Range: $100,000-130,000 annually. The provided salary range is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this hire. The actual salary offered will be influenced by candidate experience and other job and market-related factors.
