Salary: $60,000-$80,000 or commensurate with experience

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team and support Favor International’s mission to advance Christian-based initiatives nationally and globally. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, researching, and securing funding opportunities through compelling proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports. This role also involves maintaining grant management systems, cultivating funder relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to align strategy with funding opportunities.

Core Areas of Expertise

  1. Information Gathering, Planning, and Strategizing

    Collect and organize information to support the efficient development of letters of inquiry and proposals. Collaborate with internal teams to align funding strategies with organizational goals.

  2. Research

    Identify prospective foundations and funding sources aligned with Favor’s Christian mission and ministry areas. Maintain and update the Master Grant Calendar, tracking all submissions, deadlines, responses, reporting requirements, and foundation interactions.

  3. Grant Requests and Deliverables

    Develop high-quality, clear, and compelling proposals tailored to each funder’s requirements. Review submission guidelines (hard copy, email, or online platform) and manage submission logistics. Collaborate with designated team members for review and approval of drafts.

  4. Proofreading and Editing

    Provide proofreading and editing support for in-house grant documents as needed. Ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with funders’ guidelines.

  5. Grant Reports

    Draft and submit timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports to funders. Gather project data from internal teams to demonstrate impact, outcomes, and alignment with funder requirements.

  6. Grant Management and Relationship Cultivation

    Manage ongoing updates to grant tracking systems and internal communications. Support relationship-building through correspondence, reporting, and documentation of interactions with funders. Advise and assist with communication strategies to strengthen partnerships with foundations.

Key Responsibilities (Quarterly Deliverables)

  • Draft and submit Letters of Inquiry (hard copy, email, or online).
  • Develop and submit full grant proposals or online applications.
  • Prepare and submit grant reports to funders.
  • Update and maintain the Master Grant Calendar.
  • Conduct and document prospect research to identify new funders.
  • Submit internal quarterly reports to leadership on grant progress and activities.
  • Document and track communication with funders and community stakeholders.

Scope of Services

  • Site Assessment & Pre-Proposal Planning: Learn the organization’s programs, people, and funding needs to align strategy and relationships.
  • Research Prospective Funders: Maximize opportunities by identifying funding sources from grants aligned with Favor’s objectives.
  • Project & Program Proposals: Produce competitive proposals that secure funding and foster long-term relationships with foundations and corporations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in grant writing for nonprofits, preferably with Christian-based or global organizations.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to identify high-potential funding opportunities.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with grant management systems, calendars, and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams while managing multiple deadlines independently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
