About the Role: Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Video Product Specialist (Sr Specialist, Technical). The Senior Video Product Specialist will be part of product planning related responsibilities, which include new product launch such as new cinema and broadcast products as well as research, future product and planning.

This individual will also have a role in tradeshow planning, setup and demonstrating Canon products. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days).

Your Impact:

  • New Product Launch: Go through tech notes and product manuals, create bullet points and presentation slides, get familiar with product using early stage samples and become tech evangelist contributing to successful launch.
  • Occasional Back-up PR Spokesperson: Backing up our main spokesperson, occasionally expected to perform as a PR spokesperson for camera/lens products.
  • 3rd Party Vendor Relationship: Expected to be main or sub point of contact for 3rd party vendors to take care of 3D CAD drawing requests and etc.

About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience
  • Detail-oriented, have the ability to trouble-shoot and isolate technical problems and recommend appropriate actions and solutions, and possess proficiency with the entire Canon product line, particularly the applications of professional and industrial products
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Professional knowledge of Broadcast and Cinema Lenses and advanced customer support techniques may be required
  • Occasional lifting up to 60lbs (lenses and accessories); ability to use hand tools; close visual acuity for computer, analysis and using tools/equipment; and environmental exposure when working outside and on sets
  • Travel of 25% or more nationwide
  • Individual must possess a clean valid state driver's license in order to obtain the position
