Not Defined By FND is a nonprofit organization on a mission to end stigma and bring awareness, advocate for research and treatments, and create conversations to bring needed changes and hope for all FND warriors. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we aim to empower individuals affected by Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and foster a sense of understanding and support.

As the Volunteer Social Media Coordinator, you will play an essential role in amplifying our mission across digital platforms. Your work will help build a strong online presence, engage our audience, and inspire action within our community and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation:
    • Develop, write, and post engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
    • Create graphics, videos, and other multimedia content using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to align with our mission.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a compassionate and timely manner.
    • Build meaningful connections with followers and facilitate conversations that promote awareness and hope.
  • Campaign Management:
    • Plan and execute social media campaigns to highlight awareness initiatives, research advocacy, fundraising, and events.
    • Collaborate with team members to align campaigns with organizational objectives.
  • Analytics and Reporting:
    • Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the impact of campaigns and engagement.
    • Provide regular updates to identify successes and suggest improvements.
  • Research and Trends:
    • Stay updated on emerging social media trends and tools to enhance strategy.
    • Explore innovative ways to expand our reach and increase awareness of FND.

Qualifications

  • Skills and Experience:
    • Experience with social media platforms and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Hootsuite, Buffer) preferred, but not required.
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills tailored for nonprofit messaging.
    • Basic knowledge of social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, platform-specific insights).
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines while working with a remote team.

    • Passionate about raising awareness and supporting individuals affected by FND.
    • Creative, proactive, and enthusiastic about using social media for social good.
    • Empathetic and sensitive when engaging with individuals navigating chronic illnesses.
