ROLE TITLE: Telecommunications Technician III (VHF Radio)

WORK ARRANGEMENT:

The resources doing this role can actually reside anywhere in Wisconsin (the locations listed in the job posting are some of the more likely sites they might have to day-trip to). So, as long as the candidate is o.k. with the site visits (expenses paid), the location is open (as long as it's in WI.

• 100% Onsite from within Wisconsin.
• The candidate must be a current resident of Wisconsin, or the candidate must be relocated by the start date.
• Travel requirement: High – this position requires travel across the state for installs, maintenance, and support. Overnight travel may be required.

START / END: 11/03/25 to 06/30/2026, with a reasonable possibility of a multi-year extension.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of conventional VHF Radio System operability (2+ years)
• Experience with mobile system installation (vehicle and office electronics; 2+ years)
• Knowledge of FCC licensing procedures and license maintenance
• Maintaining portable radio battery fleets
• Networking experience, including switches, routers, and firewalls
• Experience cabling with copper and fiber optic technologies
• Clear technical documentation and system diagram creation
