Position Overview

Music Therapist (Part‑time) at Salt Lake Behavioral Health Hospital, 118‑bed psychiatric facility in Salt Lake City, UT. Transform lives through evidence‑based music therapy for patients with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and dual diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and assess therapeutic music therapy services for patients in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Define treatment goals and support patients’ mental health journeys.
  • Conduct assessments, facilitate group interventions, document progress and discharge planning.
  • Build therapeutic alliance through empathetic patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy or academic equivalency.
  • Minimum 1 year related experience in psychiatric patient care (preferred).
  • MT‑BC certification (required). Utah State Certified Music Therapist (SC‑MT) required.
  • CPR certification required. Handle With Care training within 90 days. Complete facility‑specific training for restraints and seclusions within 90 days of employment.
