Overview Climate Cultura: Arizona is a program that trains a cadre of Latino creatives as clean energy ambassadors who create content, share local success stories, and inspire action. This is a PAID one-month fellowship for Latino content creators – comedians, influencers, filmmakers, and others – living in Phoenix or the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Participants take part in a one-weekend, in-person training with local leaders, organizers, and climate experts. The training includes a writers’ room style workshop to generate ideas and collaborate with other artists. After training, participants produce three pieces of creative content centered on climate and clean energy. Final products can include documentary shorts, comedy sketch videos, informative illustrations, straight-to-camera issue breakdowns, and other ideas. The goal is to partner with creatives as gatekeepers who educate their networks and local communities about clean energy and to inspire action around climate solutions using stories, art, and humor to tell a narrative of solutions and collective action. You do not need to be a climate expert to participate. If you’re excited to connect with your community, learn about local and state climate solutions, and turn that information into compelling videos, this program is for you. What to Expect Climate Cultura: Arizona includes an education component, a community component, and a focus on creating three digital videos. All participants will receive a $1,000 honorarium for training participation and $3,000 for creating three videos inspired by the training (distributed as $1,000 per video). Overall, participants are paid $4,000 for attending the weekend training and producing three videos. Fellows may also apply for up to $500 in community grants to host local events to educate networks about clean energy solutions and expand impact beyond the training. What we are looking for in creatives A Weekend Workshop (January 31–February 1, 2026): The workshop is two full days of climate and clean energy education, community-building, creative workshopping, and initial project work. Attendance in person is mandatory. Creating 3 videos for distribution: You will create three videos based on what you learn, and work with program directors to distribute them with climate groups, partners, and on social channels. Being passionate about where you live: Focus on local Arizona climate concerns, how neighborhoods and communities are affected, and local/state solutions. Nurturing curiosity about climate and clean energy: You don’t need to be a climate expert, but ongoing engagement with local climate and advocacy organizations is encouraged. Generation180 is a national clean energy nonprofit working to inspire action on clean energy in homes and communities. Climate Power En Acción focuses on earned and paid media political communications to support a green economy transition for Latinos and climate progress for future generations.
