Principal UX & Customer Experience Designer

Our client is seeking a seasoned and forward‑thinking Principal UX & Customer Experience Designer to lead major design initiatives within a complex, enterprise‑scale environment. This position plays a key role in shaping both near‑term and long‑term product experiences.

In this role, you’ll lead the development of compelling storytelling to build concepts and secure stakeholder buy‑in through collaborative work.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer journeys and feedback into clear, engaging visuals and narratives that help teams deeply understand the end‑user experience.
  • Use storytelling methods within journey maps, service diagrams, and presentation tools (e.g., Miro, PowerPoint) to illustrate key moments, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Map and analyze customer interactions across multiple touchpoints to pinpoint friction areas and recommend improvements.
  • Develop strategic frameworks, experience maps (blueprints), and design concepts that support broader business and experience objectives.
  • Ensure digital tools and connected platforms provide a seamless, consistent experience that aligns with user needs and expectations.
  • Create low‑fidelity prototypes to explore ideas and secure stakeholder alignment before moving to detailed design.
  • Oversee or guide higher‑fidelity prototype development to refine concepts and validate solutions.
  • Partner closely with product, technology, and business teams to balance immediate priorities with long‑term design vision.

Clearly articulate the reasoning and measurable impact behind design recommendations to influence decisions across teams.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of professional experience (combination of UX and CX)
  • Proven expertise in journey mapping, visualizing the end‑to‑end experience of a customer or user interacting with a product or service
  • Strong storytelling skills, translating journey insights, research, and user feedback into narratives that build empathy and drive action
  • Proficient in Miro and PowerPoint for creating presentations to communicate concepts and gain stakeholder buy‑in
  • Experienced in creating low‑ and high‑fidelity prototypes using Figma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without Visa sponsorship or transfer
