Job Description

The Displays and Audio Hardware Engineer evaluates and selects display and operator-machine interface products for US Navy platforms. Responsibilities include market surveys, trade studies, test plan development, leading a cross‑functional working group, and maintaining video architectures that access multiple servers on operator consoles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market surveys to identify candidate products.
• Perform trade studies to down‑select candidates.
• Develop and execute test plans to confirm suitability.
• Lead a working group of functional groups, companies, and customer representatives.
• Develop and maintain video architectures for operator consoles.
• Share video feeds between operator consoles using networked audio/video/HMI sharing devices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent combined education and 9 years of professional experience.
• Leadership experience.
• Evaluation of COTS, ROTS, NDI, and/or custom components.
• Test procedure development and execution.
• Participation in Integrated Product Teams, review boards, and customer reviews.
• Proficiency with Python, Bash or Linux.
• Experience with video standards (RGB, DisplayPort, DVI).
• Experience with USB.
• Experience with TCP/IP & UDP/IP.

Desired Skills

• Experience with military hardware design processes and specifications.
• Experience with end‑of‑life assessments and evaluations.
• Experience with networked video distribution, streaming, or Remote Network Adaptor (RNA).
• Experience with routing and switching protocols, DHCP, UDP multicast.
• Experience with analog audio performance.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Salary

Annual base salary ranges based on location: $104,500 – $184,115 for most locations; $120,100 – $208,150 for major metropolitan areas. Salary determined by responsibilities, experience, and market factors.
