We are seeking a Service Writer to join our team in Savannah, GA.

Daily Responsibilities To Include

  • Provide strong support / overall redundancy to the General Manager, Purchaser and Office Administrator.
  • Answer phones and communicate with customers, act as a liaison between company and customer.
  • Understand customer’s needs and expectations, communicating them with Service Manager.
  • Assist General Manager with management of storage boats, transient and off-site service calls for sail and power ranging in size of 25’ to 65’.
  • Generate work orders, distribute to crew and manage process.
  • Assist General Manager in writing new work estimates as required.
  • Assist General Manager in coordinating work schedule with trades.
  • Review daily timesheets and enter them in system.
  • Review and edit work order billing pro‑formas for invoicing.
  • Assist General Manager in project management of all projects.
  • Deliver on projects meeting personal and company financial objectives.
  • Plan hours entry, assist with General Manager – planning, organizing, and scheduling the work.
  • Provide general sales assistance for boat shows and other marketing events.
  • Travel off‑site for boat inspection and estimates.
  • Create and maintain SRO’s & reports.
  • Invoicing – work closely with Office Manager to produce accurate and timely work order invoices.

Requirements

  • Team Player – critical, highly motivated, self‑starter, organized and able to multi‑task; boat yard experience preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with past experience.
  • Computer skills a must and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years in marine industry possessing strong knowledge in sailboats and sailboat terminology.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within and between all levels of the company.
  • Must be persuasive and able to calmly and professionally deal effectively with difficult customers.
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of powerboats and power terminology.
  • Strong marketing and sales skills a plus.
  • Works well individually with minimal direction.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
