About The Team & The Role DoorDash’s mission is to grow and empower local economies. We bring insights to the forefront, ensuring the voice of our audiences is at the core of our decisions. We complete research, incorporate tools, synthesize data, and consult on projects.
Role Responsibilities
Lead research that informs brand positioning, creative effectiveness, and campaign measurement
Manage and evolve our creative testing program to optimize work across channels
Uncover drivers of brand health and identify opportunities for growth
Influence Marketing leadership decisions and act as a cross‑functional thought partner
Use creativity and technical expertise to execute qualitative and quantitative research processes
Synthesize learnings into compelling stories that stimulate decisions
Build and oversee vendor relationships and run studies in house
Improve project management efficiency by managing timelines and ensuring vendors meet business needs
Establish tools and processes that centralize information for strategic partners
Support a culture that identifies and acts on insights across the business
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in Marketing Research or Insights
Understanding of concept development, script testing, copy testing, ethnography, segmentation, brand health, and other qualitative and quantitative techniques
Comfort with self‑moderating one‑on‑one interviews
Creative and collaborative—love working with a team to solve challenging problems
Experience with Qualtrics or extensive survey programming experience
Expertise with brand tracking research—leveraging crosstab tools, statistical testing tools, and indexing
Experience with AI in research and clear understanding of where it can accelerate
Experience writing Insights proposals or learning plans and explaining methodologies to non‑research stakeholders
Innately curious about people; thrive in fast‑paced atmospheres with multiple priorities
Effective communication and presentation skills that establish trust and engage business partners
Exceptional organizational skills with ownership mentality over projects
Strategic and business‑minded—continuously pushing for the “so‑what” in data trends
Adaptability to flexible and sometimes ambiguous working environments
Benefits & Compensation The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range
$129,200—$190,000 USD
and is determined based on job‑related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, the role includes opportunities for equity grants. DoorDash offers a comprehensive benefits package: 401(k) plan with employer matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off and paid sick leave, medical, dental, vision benefits, 11 paid holidays, disability and basic life insurance, family‑forming assistance, and a mental health program.
