Overview Alpine, an ITW company, is a leading provider of building component software, equipment, and the industry’s best service to component manufacturers. Partnering with our customers, we help to improve their businesses and make them more productive. We are a leader in delivering software solutions to the construction industry to increase profitability.

Alpine is seeking a Technical Marketing Representative for our TrusSteel segment. This position develops new business opportunities via the architectural, structural engineering, and general contractor communities by identifying firms with potential to grow the market for TrusSteel products. Technical sales and marketing presentations to identified firms drive increases in TrusSteel specifications and pull-through sales revenue. The role collaborates with customers to increase TrusSteel name recognition and brand awareness locally.

Responsibilities

Deliver clear and concise presentations to targeted audiences (architects, engineers or contractors) that communicate the benefits of TrusSteel versus other non-combustible construction materials and against TrusSteel’s direct competitors in the cold-formed steel truss marketplace. Presentations may be face-to-face or delivered via webinar.

Maintain and continuously improve presentations to ensure content matches current building codes, industry standards, and TrusSteel data; update content as dictated by industry trends, market segmentation, or sales strategy.

Utilize social media (LinkedIn, X) to increase TrusSteel market awareness through relevant postings on customer projects, industry trends, and market successes.

Respond promptly to inquiries received via website and the TrusSteel hotline; use steelVIEW software for basic truss design questions and collaborate with engineering on more involved requests. Share contact information with the Sales Manager and customers as needed.

Develop and maintain a national database of architects, structural engineers and contractors; leverage the database for targeted email and social media campaigns and keep contact information accurate and up to date.

Review Dodge and Reed services to locate regional projects; analyze data to determine specification rates for TrusSteel and competitors; target architectural and engineering contacts not currently specifying TrusSteel.

Maintain records with the American Institute of Architects for AIA-CES accreditations and with the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute for PDH accreditations; issue completion certificates and monitor competitor presentations.

Understand complementary products (steel studs, metal deck, etc.) and identify opportunities for collaboration within the same market space.

Attend local and national trade shows as required and perform extensive follow-up with leads via the Sales Manager and customers.

Support the organization’s short-term and long-term goals and advocate for TrusSteel’s value-added sales presentations.

Establish expertise in cold-formed steel truss products; discuss differences and benefits versus competitors with the perspective of a material supplier and a component manufacturer.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant strategic technical sales experience in the non-residential building industry, with emphasis on the architectural and structural engineering community.

Comprehensive knowledge of the building industry and services.

Proven value-added selling and account management skills with strong financial acumen.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient public speaking and presentation abilities.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication to the audience and establish/maintain strong relationships.

Up to 50% travel required; occasional weekend travel and trade show attendance.
