Emergency Communications Ctr Specialist- Communications Ctr at Nationwide Children\'s Hospital. Part Time - 24 hours per week. Typical Schedule
12-hour shifts, 4pm-12:30am, every other weekend. Rotating holidays with a schedule of 7am-7:30pm. Job Description Summary
Effectively communicates emergency information to appropriate stakeholders. Essential Functions
Receives and transmits emergency and urgent information via radio, computer, and telephone to pre-hospital and in-house personnel. Answers and directs incoming emergency calls from transport and on-scene personnel, providing efficient support and assisting with resource coordination. Facilitates effective and accurate communication between internal and external departments and staff. Provides security dispatching services, monitoring cameras and alarms, and reporting activity. Maintains accurate documentation of clinical and billing information, emergency communications, and security and medical events, relaying to appropriate personnel as needed. Assists with training of new employees, developing reports, and maintaining emergency communication equipment. Education
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Licensure

Paramedic Certification, preferred. Skills
Familiarity with mainframe systems. Database and spreadsheet software skills. Analytical and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task effectively. Ability to function calmly and respond quickly in stressful or emergency situations. Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and pre-hospital procedures. Experience
Experience in an Emergency Department or other clinical setting, preferred. Emergency dispatch or EMS experience, preferred. Physical Requirements
Occasionally: Color vision; neck flexion/extension; lifting 0-10 lbs; walking. Frequently: Interpreting data, problem solving. Continuously: Audible speech, computer skills, decision making, hand use, hearing acuity, peripheral vision, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing both far and near, sitting.
