Audio Visual Lead Technician
Job Type: Full-Time In-Person
Location: Lenexa, KS
Travel: Some out-of-town travel will be required
Position Overview: The Audio Visual Lead Technician is responsible for leading the on-site implementation of AV projects, ensuring installations meet quality standards and project timelines. This role requires technical excellence, leadership in the field, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute AV installation projects according to blueprints and technical specifications.
- Pull cable, terminate connectors, and install AV components including projectors, displays, loudspeakers and racks.
- Perform mechanical fabrication and assist with rack building and wiring.
- Load and configure Q‑SYS control systems.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and riser diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and provide advanced technical support for Q‑SYS, AMX, and Biamp control systems (no programming required).
- Set up and configure Netgear networking equipment including switches, routers, and wireless networks.
- Ensure all installation tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and with a high standard of quality.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to deliver outstanding service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites.
- Occasionally travel to out-of-town job sites as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- CTS‑I Certification
- Q‑SYS Level 2 Certification
- Dante Level 2 Certification
- Proven experience managing and installing commercial AV systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiarity with AV networking (especially Netgear systems).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Team‑oriented with a professional attitude and strong work ethic.
