Key Responsibilities Communications & Marketing (50%)
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports donor engagement, brand visibility, and mission storytelling.
Create compelling newsletters, campaigns, annual reports, and appeals (digital and print).
Develop communication materials for events, including invitations, sponsorship decks, press releases, and program journals.
Develop and implement a social media strategy to ensure cohesive messaging and strong engagement.
Maintain and update LUW's website and photo archive.
Produce monthly internal e‑newsletter and collaborate with staff to create program flyers.
Manage external vendors including graphic designer, audio/visual partners, and printers.
Events (30%)
Lead the planning and execution of LUW's fundraising and cultivation events, including our annual spring gala and fall benefit concert.
Oversee event logistics from start to finish.
Develop event themes, timelines, and budgets that align with fundraising goals.
Recruit and engage committees, honorees, and sponsors.
Draft collateral, run‑of‑show materials, and talking points.
Analyze post‑event outcomes to continuously strengthen future events.
Donor Relations & Stewardship (20%)
Identify and cultivate new donors, event sponsors, and partners.
Represent LUW at community events, donor meetings, and public‑facing engagements as needed.
Record donor interactions and communications in donor database (Bloomerang).
Support other Development initiatives, including the annual Student Essay Contest and seasonal campaigns.
Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, or event planning.
Bachelor's degree required.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
Proven experience planning and executing successful fundraising events.
Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Tech savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite and basic design/website software.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Commitment to the mission and values of Lifting Up Westchester.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional local travel.
