Proper Hospitality is seeking a highly talented and visionary Director of Social Media to join our Marketing team in Los Angeles.

Position Overview The Director of Social Media is a dynamic brand storyteller and strategic leader who will shape and scale Proper Hospitality’s organic social presence across platforms. This role is pivotal in evolving our multi-property strategy into a culturally influential, visually iconic, and business-driving brand channel.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just fluent in the digital landscape but can help define it. This person brings fresh thinking and bold creativity. They will blend Proper’s distinctive aesthetic with performance-driven goals, elevating our presence across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.

This role requires both vision and follow-through. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, collaborates deeply with internal and external partners, and is equally energized by strategic planning and thoughtful execution. They are a natural team player who supports their colleagues, brings energy to ideation, and contributes meaningfully across functions.

What You’ll Do

Own Proper’s multi-property organic social strategy and lead content planning across platforms

Champion brand voice and creative vision in daily content, campaigns, and creator partnerships

Lead a test-and-learn approach to formats, captions, and platform innovations

Build and manage a curated network of creators and influencers who reflect our brand values

Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Brand, PR, Growth, and Hotel teams

Monitor KPIs like engagement, reach, video views, saves, and contribution to bookings

Support the growth team with insights for paid social, funnel alignment, and creative iteration

Manage and mentor social team members and help scale our brand storytelling across cities

What You Bring

7–10 years in social media strategy or content marketing within luxury, lifestyle, or hospitality

Proven success growing premium brands through culturally resonant content and community

Strong understanding of content performance and influencer marketing

Creative eye for elevated visuals, editorial tone, and on-brand storytelling

Collaborative mindset with experience working across creative and growth teams

Willingness to contribute to both high-level strategy and execution when needed
