School Librarian Responsibilities:
- Foster a library environment that utilizes current research practices and aligns student interests.
- Plan and instruct library/research courses for Lower, Middle, and Upper School students.
- Collaborate with faculty members to design and implement lessons that promote information literacy skills.
- Develop and maintain print collection for students and faculty to utilize.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to further develop and enrich professional skills.
- Stay current on best practices in information literacy, library science, and instructional technologies.
- Equip faculty, students, and parents with reference and information services.
School Librarian Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years of previous experience as a school librarian or working in a public library.
- Experience working with middle and upper school students.
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
