Site Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: Regular About Us Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves more than 6,000 students in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama across its five locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas. GHC currently offers over 30 areas of study with associate degree and bachelor's degree options both in the classroom and online. Job Summary This position promotes excellence in pedagogy and educational technology in all course modalities by building faculty expertise in educational experiences.
Responsibilities
Responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
Learning Management System
Serve as primary contact for faculty LMS and online learning support
Provides management of the LMS holding an administrator light role in D2L
Responds to technology tickets related to the LMS
Faculty Training
Guides faculty on effective research-based practices in instructional design, pedagogy, and technology by providing related one-on-one support, consultations, and workshops
Assists faculty to enhance teaching, explore a teaching innovation, or improve student learning
Consults with faculty to analyze classroom practices, assess teaching and learning needs of courses, and share evidence-based approaches in course design, instruction, and assessment
Fosters a culture of formative assessment and continuous improvement of teaching practices to enhance student learning
Assists with the design and implementation of new CETL programming and events
Marketing and Development
Develops marketing and communication strategies to engage faculty and staff in CETL programming and services
Stays up to date on research about pedagogical methods and instructional technologies, especially those related to learner-centered teaching, and disseminates relevant research and literature to faculty
Keeps up to date on researched best practices in areas related to faculty development and improving the center's overall effectiveness
Creates and maintains print and online teaching and learning resources
Partners with campus constituents to implement both GHC and University System of Georgia (USG) initiatives that pertain to providing an inclusive and equitable learning environment
Other
Collaborates with CETL team and assist with projects as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupation
Minimum 1 year experience in the field of faculty development, educational development, training, organizational development, or leadership development
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Proposed Salary $58,635 annually
