Position Overview The Instructional Designer for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will work with faculty across disciplines with their efforts to design, develop, and deliver high-quality courses and significant learning experiences across instructional modalities. These positions develop and lead faculty development workshops related to pedagogy. This position is collaborative, working closely with faculty and staff to support evolving programs and initiatives, course-level instructional excellence, and technology-enhanced teaching and learning.

Position Qualifications
One year’s experience in instructional design, online learning, course development, educational technology or closely related field
Required Education
Master’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
PhD and at least one year of experience working with faculty and staff in the design and development of college/university courses and programs (may be associated with degree earning program)
Experience as an instructional designer/course builder in a college or university setting
Knowledge of
Instructional and online course design theories, practices, and faculty development strategies
College/university course/learning assessment practices and standards
Course and curriculum (re)design practices
Familiarity with Canvas and related instructional delivery platforms and technology
Artificial Intelligence and emerging implications for classroom settings
Universal Design Practices and Federal Accessibility Requirements
Experience
Developing and implementing course- and program-level assessments for continuous course improvement and instructional effectiveness
Working as part of a team to advance institutional efforts
Course quality assessment and evaluation practices and standards
Proactively forging strong, sustainable, and cordial working relationships
Experience communicating and interacting effectively in multiple formats for large, small, and online-accessible populations
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Degree Requirement: Listed degree qualification is required at time of application
