Position Purpose
The Continuing Resources Librarian will lead Dartmouth Libraries’ management and administration of access to ongoing scholarly resources across evolving modalities and through efficient and sustainable workflows. The role includes supervising the continuing resources team, leading library‑wide serials and standing order processes, coordinating the lifecycle and acquisition of streaming media, supporting open and transformative access, and assisting with electronic resources management in collaboration with the Electronic Resources Librarian. In partnership with subject librarians, the librarian uses data‑informed methods to identify strategic, cost‑efficient ways to provide access to or acquire continuing resources. This is a hybrid work location eligible position.

Responsibilities
- Lead Dartmouth Libraries’ management and administration of access to ongoing scholarly resources across evolving modalities.
- Supervise the continuing resources team.
- Lead library‑wide serials and standing order processes.
- Coordinate lifecycle and acquisition of streaming media.
- Support open and transformative access.
- Assist with electronic resources management in collaboration with the Electronic Resources Librarian.
- Use data‑informed methods to identify strategic, cost‑efficient ways to provide access or acquire continuing resources.
- Maintain records in various systems for inventory control, bibliographic control, and discovery facilitation.
- Coordinate analysis and assessment of inventory to monitor usage trends.
- Stay current on emerging trends, practices, and standards in electronic resource management and emerging technologies.
- Participate in user groups and open‑source communities to maintain updated systems knowledge, enhance problem‑solving skills, and facilitate improvements to existing systems and workflows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library or Information Science, or equivalent advanced degree from an ALA‑accredited or equivalent accrediting body.
- Two years of serials or electronic resources management experience.
- Knowledge of current trends in electronic resource management.
- Knowledge and experience with electronic resources technical standards such as COUNTER, KBART, and SUSHI.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing information landscape, manage competing priorities, and tolerate ambiguity.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development/achievement.
- Masters plus 2–3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large‑scale serials renewals processes, both internally and with serials agencies/vendors.
- Ability to lead staff, develop, and manage efficient workflows/processes.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with integrated library systems, preferably ExLibris’ Alma.
- Experience managing streaming media purchases, access, and holdings.
