ABC Owned Television Stations is seeking a strong candidate for the role of Content Systems Engineer.

This full-time role is hands on and is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting mission critical media systems supporting various departments across the enterprise, primarily media production.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Broadcast Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of work experience

  • 5 years of broadcast/post production engineering experience

  • Advanced knowledge of media workflow and orchestration systems such as Telestream Vantage, IBM Aspera, Dalet Galaxy, etc.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or other programming languages

  • Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, and AWS media services)

  • Knowledge of on-premises Virtualization & Storage solutions (VMware, NetApp Storage, Dell EMC Isilon, etc.)

  • Familiarity with broadcast hardware (encoders, decoders, video routers, etc.)

  • Understanding of live video transport protocols (SRT, RTMP, RTSP, NDI, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Post Production workflows (transcoding, archiving, etc.) including non-linear editing, VFX and motion graphics software (Adobe Creative Suite [After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro], Maxon CINEMA 4D, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)

  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and quickly adapt to changing requirements

  • Ability to work early mornings, late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed for outages and/or maintenance windows, and participate in the department's on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $121,200-$162,20; in Burbank, CA and Chicago, IL is $115,500 to $154,800; in Houston, TX and Durham, NC is $110,000 to $147,500; and in San Francisco, CA is $126,500 to $169,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
