The Role
The incumbent must exhibit a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for residents and the workforce, consistently building relationships within communities and with external partners.
- Foster a sense of community and go the extra mile to create a positive experience for residents, staff, vendor partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrate an open, professional attitude when addressing resident and staff concerns, seeking resources across the organization.
- Actively listen and collaborate with residents and staff to resolve challenges, ensuring everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
Qualifications
- 5‑7 years of experience in the property‑management industry.
- 2+ years as a community/property manager.
- Proven ability to diffuse and respond to resident concerns, avoiding escalation.
- Effective leadership experience in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of LIHTC and tax‑credit qualifications.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Capacity to interact effectively with senior executives.
- Ability to work under tight time and resource constraints.
- Professional presentation and appearance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and the internet.
Key Accountabilities
- Resident Relations & Customer Service – ensure a positive resident experience from move‑in to move‑out.
- Implement systems for prompt action on resident complaints and serve as an advocate to senior leadership.
- Plan and execute resident events and retention programs.
- Maintain secure, confidential resident files and monitor financial health of the community.
- Drive financial growth through marketing, leasing, and new‑unit occupancy; maintain 0% rent delinquency.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and collaborate with the Regional Manager on the annual operating budget.
- Oversee capital projects and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
Staff Leadership
- Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback through the performance review process.
- Coordinate on‑site operations including budget implementation, compliance, vendor relationships, rent collections, and accounts payable.
- Promote a culture of high performance, collaboration, and inclusivity.
- Ensure property operations meet all housing rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Compliance & Guidelines
- Adhere to company policies, Fair Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other industry laws.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal eligibility requirements.
- Follow procedures outlined in employee and management handbooks.
- Report potential housing violations and liability concerns promptly.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Essential staff duties require frequent sitting, walking, and use of a computer.
- Travel within the region, including airline, train, and automotive transport.
- Repetitive use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and phone.
- Occasional squatting, bending, or twisting to address resident or maintenance issues.

Compensation Range
$65,000 – $68,203 USD
