This position is based on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, OK. It is an office-based position; remote and hybrid work are not currently options. Fire Protection Publications is dedicated to producing high-quality educational content for firefighters and first responders. The person in this role will handle editorial development for Fire Protection Publications. Major Responsibilities
Lead project development of fire service training manuals from drafts to final publication. Coordinate review of draft materials with subject matter experts. Research, compose, or revise drafts for training manuals. Select and assist with photos, artwork, and tables for publications. Edit manual texts for grammar, spelling, style, and organization. Proof layout for errors. Assist other departments with instructional materials, multimedia, presentations, and marketing. Participate in organizational goals and professional development. Represent FPP and IFSTA, including serving as a Lead Editor and delivering presentations. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Details

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (conferred by start date) One year of related work experience Skills in editing and proofreading training materials Ability to work from a file server Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint Highly organized with excellent communication skills Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to influence others Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Education, Psychology, Technical Writing, Fire Protection, or related fields Firefighter, Fire Officer, or Fire Instructor certifications Organization
