Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational insights.
- Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals alongside long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions zeroing in on aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage in collaborative care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure an integrated care approach.
- Provide education for patients and families to facilitate progress outside clinical hours.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations while ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records adhering to state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Commit to professional growth by staying abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and networking with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be obtained within 30 days of commencement.
- Expertise in evidence-driven treatment methodologies suitable for all age groups, and a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Adaptability in therapy methods to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with effective problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation best practices.
