Content Marketing Senior Associate We are looking for a Content Marketing Senior Associate to join the Marketing division here at athenahealth. In this role, the Content Marketing Senior Associate will support the strategy, creation, and execution of content that drives awareness, engagement, and demand across the buyer journey. It blends storytelling, analytical thinking, and operational precision to help scale a high‑performing content engine.

This individual will work cross‑functionally with product marketing, creative, communications, and campaign teams to produce content that aligns with key business priorities, reinforces our brand narrative, and supports lead generation and nurture initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and manage content across multiple formats — blogs, landing pages, ebooks, infographics, webinars, and email modules.

Translate complex topics into clear, compelling, and actionable content tailored to audience needs, personas, journey stages and channels.

Support editorial calendars, campaign content plans, and pillar‑based initiatives aligned to core marketing themes and verticals.

Collaborate with internal SMEs and external writers or agencies to ensure brand consistency and accuracy.

Partner with integrated marketing and demand generation teams to ensure content supports funnel progression and campaign objectives.

Optimize and adapt assets for paid, owned, and earned channels.

Support content tagging, metadata, and asset management processes in the DAM to enable content discoverability and reuse.

Monitor performance metrics (traffic, engagement, conversion) in collaboration with marketing operations and analytics teams.

Recommend content optimizations, A/B testing ideas, and SEO and GEO enhancements to improve visibility and ROI.

Contribute to ongoing content audits and gap analyses to identify opportunities for refresh, reuse, or personalization.

Work closely with creative and content operations teams to uphold editorial standards and workflows.

Ensure compliance with brand, legal, and regulatory guidelines across all content.

Champion consistent messaging across marketing touchpoints and help maintain voice and tone standards.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field.

Link to portfolio included in application.

3+ years of experience in content marketing, journalism, or B2B marketing communications.

Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor voice and tone for different audiences.

Proven experience producing content that supports demand generation or nurture campaigns.

Familiarity with SEO/GEO, analytics, and marketing automation or CMS tools.

Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.

Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or technology marketing.

Understanding of content lifecycle management, tagging, and modular content models.

Basic design literacy or comfort collaborating with creative teams and agencies.

Ability to synthesize SME input and translate complex topics into accessible, audience‑first content.

Expected Compensation $58,000 - $98,000

At athenahealth, base pay depends on experience, knowledge, and geographic market. Base pay is one part of our competitive Total Rewards package, which also includes short and long‑term incentives such as an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
