Position Summary...

The Manager, Communications & Engagement is part of the Customer Engagement Services (CES) Communications & Engagement Team. We tell the CES story, showing how our work supports Walmart's strategy and makes an impact inside and outside the company.

Reporting to the Director, Communications & Engagement and working closely with the larger team, this role helps bring our story to life. You'll connect CES's work to the broader Walmart story, boost associate engagement, and turn day-to-day operations into stories that inform and inspire.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves storytelling, understands business, and can create messages that resonate with associates, leaders, and industry audiences.

You'll also partner with CES leaders and Corporate Communications & Events to share and celebrate the CES story with everyone ... from remote hourly associates to company leaders and external partners.

About the CES Communications & Engagement Team

We keep more than 3,000 CES associates across the U.S. and India informed, engaged, and inspired. Our team builds and maintains communication channels, manages the CES editorial calendar, and owns our internal audiences. We also lead key engagement moments like all-hands meetings, recognition programs, the CES Pulse survey and events such as Customer Service Appreciation Week and Associate Week - CES

What you'll do...

We're looking for a strong communicator and strategic storyteller to join the CES Communications & Engagement team. This role connects the dots between the work CES delivers and the broader Walmart story internally and externally. You'll help us elevate CES associate engagement, enterprise-wide visibility, bring operational work to life through narrative, and support positioning that builds understanding, credibility, and connection. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who blends editorial instincts with business fluency, and who's excited to shape messaging that resonates across teams, leadership, and the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Communications

Draft high-impact content that reflects CES priorities and vision, including internal updates, leadership briefings, and org-wide narratives.

Support storytelling for associate-facing events, enterprise forums, and senior leader materials (e.g., town hall remarks, Q&A docs, or Spark updates).

Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure internal messaging is clear, timely, and aligned to enterprise tone and priorities.

Channel development, management and utilization - SharePoint, Outlook, Spark etc.

Engagement Support

Support the development and execution of recognition and engagement programs.

Partner with Enterprise Communications, Public Affairs, and Ops teams to surface CES stories that support Walmart's external positioning.

Draft speaker abstracts, LinkedIn content, and support award submissions or CES-related event prep.

Help maintain CES presence in Walmart's enterprise thought leadership and cross-functional platforms.

Content Development & Calendar Management

Maintain a CES editorial calendar for internal and external communications moments-ensuring message consistency and opportunity alignment.

Translate operational updates and technical work into audience-ready stories and content across mediums (written, video, visual decks, etc.).

Feedback, Performance, and Optimization

Track feedback from internal audiences (e.g., via Spark or Teams) and partner teams to optimize communications cadence, format, and resonance.

Coordinate with cross-functional analytics or engagement teams to gather input and evolve messaging strategy over time.

Operational Fluency: Understanding of how communication supports change, alignment, and execution in a fast-moving organization.

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in communications, content strategy, or executive comms-ideally within large-scale organizations or matrixed environments.

Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates executive voice alignment, storytelling, and stakeholder-focused communication.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Familiarity with digital internal platforms (e.g., Spark, OneWalmart, Teams), and external-facing communications tools (e.g., LinkedIn, PR support).

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field-or equivalent professional experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
