This role reports to the Director of the Global Press Office and serves as a frontline operator and spokesperson, shaping Walmart’s enterprise narrative and protecting its reputation as a trusted global brand. You will field media inquiries, manage reputational risk, and craft proactive stories that reinforce Walmart’s enterprise narrative.

Base pay range $90,000.00/yr – $180,000.00/yr

What You'll Do

Advance Walmart’s enterprise narrative and protect its reputation.

Build and leverage relationships with journalists and influencers, responding decisively to defend the company during moments of reputational risk.

Serve as a company spokesperson, delivering accurate and compelling messages on complex and sensitive topics.

Act as the first point of contact for media issues, providing guidance and shaping messaging.

Write, edit, and approve communications materials in collaboration with partners across the business.

Conduct risk assessments and ensure message consistency across channels.

Provide clear, timely counsel to internal partners during high‑visibility situations and crises.

Draft recommendations for proactive media outreach and rapid response strategies.

Support enterprise and business unit media plans by researching global business and societal trends.

Monitor media coverage and provide actionable insights to leaders and cross‑functional partners.

Represent Walmart’s Corporate Affairs team within Walmart’s Global Security Operations Center.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field with at least 4 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations.

Or minimum 6 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field in lieu of a degree.

At least 1 year of supervisory experience or experience leading cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.

Experience working with Spanish‑language media.
