Digital Strategy / Responsible for planning & executing social media campaigns for our clients – focusing on influencer marketing, community management, social media trend reporting, and social listening.

Our headquarters are located in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations – Stamford, CT, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Octagon, the world’s premier global sports marketing agency, is seeking a Strategist, Digital and Social Media to join its growing digital strategy practice.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of data-driven digital & social programs for our impressive roster of clients. You'll work alongside a team of experts to manage the measurement and analysis of social and digital campaigns, turning data into insights to create client-facing reports.

The work you’ll do

Responsible for pulling key data around social trends, audience behavior, and online conversation using our suite of social listening tools.

Assist in crafting data-driven digital recommendations for client initiatives – including (but not limited to) social strategy, media partnerships, and paid media programs.

Measure campaign performance and keep track of key metrics (such as impressions, engagements, ER, etc.) based on program goals and KPIs.

Transform datasets into easy-to-digest summaries and visuals, providing clients with relevant results and recommendations to inform future social and digital strategies.

Lead efforts in talent discovery based on the client’s campaign objectives and criteria.

Support the execution of digital and social campaigns, displaying strong organization and time management skills.

Liaise with internal & external teams as needed on client requests.

Who we’re looking for

1-2 years of experience in digital/social strategy, preferably at a media agency working in a team environment.

Experience in social analytics or social listening for a brand, team, league, property, or talent.

Knowledgeable in the paid social space, with hands‑on media buying experience or reporting a plus.

Ability to discover and develop data‑driven insights.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to create well-designed, cohesive and clear Microsoft PowerPoint decks.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus (we work with a lot of data!).

An organized and active contributor – you know how to keep everything on task and have a keen attention to follow‑through.

You are creative – you can brainstorm innovative ideas and collaborate with creative/design teams to ensure content aligns with best practices on social and digital channels.

You’re ahead of what’s trending in social & digital – what’s resonating with consumers, what platforms are growing, what content rises above the rest – and a passion for/expertise in sports, entertainment, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture.
