Strategist, Digital and Social Media – Octagon
Join us as a Strategist, Digital and Social Media at Octagon, a leading global sports marketing agency based in Stamford, CT. This role focuses on planning and executing social media campaigns for our clients, with an emphasis on influencer marketing, community management, trend reporting, and social listening.
Location:
While the headquarters are in Stamford, CT, this position can be based at one of our office locations – Stamford, CT; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; or Atlanta, GA. Remote candidates will not be considered.
As part of the growing digital strategy practice, you will assist in the development and execution of data-driven digital and social programs for our prestigious roster of clients. You’ll work alongside experts to manage measurement, analyze campaigns, and translate data into insights and client-facing reports.
The work you’ll do
Pull key data on social trends, audience behavior, and online conversations using our suite of social listening tools.
Assist in crafting data-driven digital recommendations for client initiatives – including social strategy, media partnerships, and paid media programs.
Measure campaign performance and track key metrics such as impressions, engagements, and engagement rate (ER) based on program goals and KPIs.
Transform datasets into easy-to-digest summaries and visuals, providing clients with actionable results and recommendations.
Lead efforts in talent discovery based on the client's campaign objectives and criteria.
Support the execution of digital and social campaigns, demonstrating strong organization and time management skills.
Liaise with internal and external teams as needed on client requests.

Who we’re looking for
1–2 years of experience in digital/social strategy, preferably at a media agency working in a team environment.
Experience in social analytics or listening for a brand, team, league, property, or talent.
Knowledgeable in the paid social space, with hands‑on media buying or reporting a plus.
Ability to discover and develop data-driven insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in creating clear, well‑designed Microsoft PowerPoint decks.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.
Organized with a keen attention to follow‑through.
Creativity – the ability to brainstorm innovative ideas and collaborate with design teams to ensure content aligns with best practices.
Up‑to‑date on social and digital trends, especially within sports, entertainment, music, celebrity, and lifestyle culture.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$50,000 – $55,000 per year.
