Job Summary This part‑time role supports Graduate Programs and Research at the Sam M. Walton College of Business through writing, editing, and publishing engaging content across marketing and research communication channels. The position focuses equally on (1) creating compelling marketing content that enhances awareness and engagement with Walton’s graduate programs and (2) developing, editing, and publishing research‑related materials that highlight the thought leadership of Walton faculty.
The role reports directly to the Director of Marketing for Graduate Programs, is primarily remote, and may require occasional on‑campus meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Write and edit content for graduate marketing materials, including press releases, student/alumni spotlights, email drip campaign copy, video descriptions, event recaps, and other stories.
Develop and publish faculty‑ and research‑related content, such as research recaps, newsletters, website updates, and other materials highlighting faculty expertise and applied business research.
Copyedit and proofread all written materials for clarity, consistency, and brand alignment.
Maintain and update graduate and research content on the Walton College website using approved CMS tools.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and marketing team members to gather information and shape messaging.
Support the ongoing curation and distribution of newsletters and research‑related communications.
Ensure accuracy, brand tone, and consistency across all publications and digital platforms.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Demonstrated ability to write for diverse audiences and adapt tone appropriately
Familiarity with and willingness to use AI tools such as ChatGPT to assist with writing, editing, and content development
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education, marketing, or communications
Working knowledge of Omni CMS or comparable content management systems
Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital storytelling
Experience with visual content workflows or basic multimedia editing (e.g., preparing content for videos, social media, or digital platforms)
Additional Information Graduate students are subject to background checks.
Salary Information $25 per hour
