Construction (QA) Inspector – Airfield/Roadways Pavement located in Anchorage, AK. The role is with Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. Responsibilities/Duties
Must have knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing; detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship adheres to contract, project plans and specifications Perform and support a three-phase inspection system Provide daily QA reports documenting all on-site activities in sufficient detail Review and analyze construction contractor progress Ensure safety requirements are met including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log Review design, logging of comments and back-checking; verify accurate as-built drawings Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment Review and acknowledge daily reports, verify project schedule activities for the day and identify activities behind schedule Maintain an Inspector Site Inspection Report Assist in responses for Requests for Information (RFI), modifications and change orders Participate in pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparing detailed punch lists and ensure all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment Qualifications
High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contracts, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing (highly preferred) Or an Associate Degree/Technical Training Degree with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience in the same scope (highly preferred) Or a Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years of construction inspection experience in the same scope (highly desired) Paving Inspector Certification provided by the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start date Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA rules and regulations and applicable safety requirements Demonstrated experience in QA inspections; submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay requests and daily reports Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred Professional communication, presentation and attention to detail required Benefits
