Overhead Door Corporation has three operational divisions – Access Systems Division, The Genie® Company, and Horton Pedestrian Systems – all industry leaders. The Division serves commercial and industrial markets with automatic and manual entrance systems, producing about 35,000 doors, revolving doors, security entrances, and windows annually positioned in healthcare, transportation, hospitality, retail, and government segments.
Responsibilities
Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for automatic door systems.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and gaps.
Oversee product lifecycle from concept to end‑of‑life, including design, development, launch, and post‑launch support.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure product performance and reliability.
Act as the voice of the customer and product champion across departments.
Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer service to support go‑to‑market strategies and training.
Ensure products comply with relevant safety standards, building codes, and accessibility regulations (e.g., ANSI/BHMA, ADA).
Partner with R&D to evaluate new technologies and materials for product innovation.
Develop business cases for new products and enhancements.
Monitor product performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
5+ years of product management experience in manufacturing or building technologies.
Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, preferably in automatic doors or access control.
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Knowledge of IoT integration and smart building technologies.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Physical / Work Environment Requirements
Normal office environment – in‑office position.
Moderate travel – 20–30%.
