Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current USF student with general computer proficiency, including experience using MS Office

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube)

Experience with basic graphic design tools such as Canva or similar

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Willingness to learn and take initiative

Occasional evening or weekend availability for special events

Interest and coursework in marketing, communications, or public relations

Knowledge of or interest in cybersecurity and emerging technology trends a plus

Familiarity with email marketing platforms, CRM systems, OneDrive, SharePoint, Box, and social media scheduling tools a bonus

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Adobe Creative Suite

Digital portfolio showcasing creative abilities in graphic design, videography, or other relevant visual mediums

Pursuing a degree in Advertising, Digital/Multimedia Communications, Marketing, or a related field

Working knowledge of WordPress content management system (or other CMS) and/or HubSpot (or other CRM/database)

Basic experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie)

Schedule Flexible based on students' class schedules, 15-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Support

Research, draft, and edit social media posts, blog entries, newsletter articles, short videos, and more

Assist with content scheduling and publishing across digital platforms

Help maintain an editorial calendar of upcoming posts, campaigns, and events

Help develop and maintain a comprehensive and strategic social media communications plan

Research, suggest, and help incorporate best practices and trends for content creation and social media

Evaluate and analyze social media activities

Design & Media

Help create and update basic graphics for social media, website, email blasts, flyers, digital slides, posters, etc., using Canva or similar tools, consistent with brand standards

Edit and organize digital assets

Outreach & Engagement

Research relevant earned media opportunities

Assist with email marketing campaigns and CRM database updates

Help monitor media coverage and compile engagement reports

Monitor social media platforms for engagement opportunities

Event Support

Assist in the planning, promoting, and executing outreach events and booth activities according to event timelines, to maintain high standards and coordination of all parties

Assist with transportation, set up, and clean-up of eventsProvide on-site event support, including check-in, photography, mascot handler, and attendee engagement

Learning & Development

Participate in brainstorms and strategy sessions

Receive mentorship in strategic communications, brand development, and public engagement

Stay current on cybersecurity and tech news relevant to Cyber Florida's mission

Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
