Part-Time Student Marketing Data Analyst

VP COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING (UA-VPCM-IUBLA) – University Communications and Marketing, Indiana University’s central marketing organization, seeks candidates to fill hourly positions for Part‑Time Marketing Data Analysts on the Customer Experience (CX) Marketing and Web Analytics team within the Web and Digital Strategy Team. The team improves digital constituent experiences and helps achieve university strategic priorities through digital marketing strategy, serving as a strategic partner to schools, departments, and units across Indiana University. Responsibilities

Supports the usage of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) through audience segmentation and campaign data management Translates plain‑language requests into reports from the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and SQL queries Manages, normalizes, and joins data from multiple sources for accurate targeting in marketing campaigns Assists campus partners in Marketing Cloud usage as it pertains to their data Supports a variety of analytics and visualization platforms including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Tableau, and Looker Studio Translates plain‑language report requests into accessible dashboards reporting on the overall health of IU’s web space and the progress of high‑priority marketing campaigns Commits to on‑time delivery of all requests Adheres to processes that ensure data security and privacy in accordance with university policies and applicable legal requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, CASL) Education

Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Indiana University with a background in data science, information science, information systems, or marketing Work Experience

Experience working with data and reporting, and programming languages such as Python, spreadsheets, large data sets, ETL, and visualization tools Experience with Salesforce, Google Analytics, or other marketing technology Skills

Strong Excel and SQL skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a customer‑centered approach and ability to interact with university leadership Proficient written and verbal communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Possesses flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty Highly thorough and dependable Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Must live within daily commuting distance to IU in Bloomington, Indiana or IU in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position will provide valuable experience for anyone interested in Salesforce, Google Analytics, or data science. Bloomington, Indiana or Indianapolis, Indiana. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in‑person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs. $15 per hour.
