Responsibilities

Work under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer. Rely on the engineer, or other technical professional to provide direction and guidance throughout the project duration but will be technically competent with the discipline and software used to produce the plumbing system designs.

Perform routine plumbing engineering/design assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures for the following systems including domestic cold/hot/recirculated hot water, sanitary waste and vent, primary and secondary roof drainage system, natural gas, fuel oil, medical gases, etc.

Utilize industry tools/software to develop plumbing system designs and plumbing equipment selections.

Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects

Create and maintain the mechanical/plumbing discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for that mechanical/plumbing discipline

Accurately model and annotate the BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D software

Prepare detailed construction documents, layouts, & diagrams of the plumbing design within the project scope, schedule, and budget, using the current 3D software

Coordinate the plumbing design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process.

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Commercial/Institutional experience in healthcare a plus

Mechanical system design experience (HVAC system design, heating/cooling load calculations) a plus.

Required Qualifications

Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience

Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure

Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools

Experience with 3D Coordination tools

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential

Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
