Position Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek applicants for a full-time clinician or clinician‑scientist faculty position in Medical Retina to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research, and education, primarily in new OSU multi‑specialty medical office buildings and surgical suites in the Metro Columbus area.
Participation in coverage at Columbus, VA is also required. Responsibilities
Provide patient care, research, and education in medical retina. Perform clinical services in OSUWMC facilities and other assigned clinical sites. Engage in research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and scholarship. Participate in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions. Take active participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations. Maintain clinical service coverage at Columbus and VA sites. Requirements
Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Ophthalmology by time of appointment and eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. MD or DO degree and completion of an approved residency program in Ophthalmology. Subspecialty training in a retina fellowship is required. U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management area of subspecialty. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery evidenced by basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to resident, fellow, and medical student education. How to Apply
