Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized evaluation tools and keen observational skills.
- Craft individualized treatment plans tailored to immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions that prioritize areas such as communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
- Partner with a multidisciplinary team - including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families - to develop unified care plans.
- Educate patients and their families, equipping them with tools to support therapeutic progress beyond clinic hours.
- Occasionally contribute to inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure comprehensive care throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Keep meticulous and timely records in accordance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired communication issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with patients, their families, and the cohesive care teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy techniques to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
