Job Summary
The Communications Project Manager at Canyon View Vineyard Church (CVVC) serves as the right hand to the Communications Director, managing communication projects that support the church’s mission, ministries, and events under the guidance of the Communications Director and Executive Pastor. This role oversees and coordinates content, schedules, and creative assets across all platforms, ensuring alignment with the church’s brand and messaging.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative: able to manage multiple projects and events, lead volunteers, support staff, and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. This role requires strong project management skills, a passion for the local and global church, and a deep understanding of clear, consistent messaging and timelines within both the Vineyard movement and the Mesa County community.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities
Lead Communications Projects:
Support planning and execution of communication, marketing, and creative projects under the Communications Director and Executive Pastor, ensuring alignment with church mission, messaging, and timelines.
Social Media & Web:
Manage and update social media platforms and church website; plan content, track engagement, and maintain consistent presence, including monitoring mentions.
Content Creation & Design:
Write and edit print/digital content; create basic graphics (Canva, Adobe, etc.) and coordinate with designers for advanced needs.
Event Promotion & Support:
Develop and manage promotional materials and signage for events, including printing, vinyl, and environmental signage for internal and public use.
Services Support:
Provide communication-related support for Sunday and other services as needed.
Volunteer Coordination:
Lead and schedule volunteer comms team (photography, design, social media); train volunteers for ongoing and event-based roles.
Photography, Videography, & Podcast:
Capture and edit basic photos/videos for digital platforms and archives; coordinate advanced projects with designers; assist with podcast support.
Crisis Communication:
Act as backup for urgent/sensitive messaging under direction of leadership; help craft timely, clear communication in crisis situations.
Administrative Support:
Assist with comms-related budgets, purchasing, subscriptions, and file organization; oversee printing and other admin projects as assigned.
Tech & Tools Oversight:
Provide light IT support for comms tools and platforms; liaise with vendors and tech staff as needed.
Other Communications Roles:
Support the Communications Director, Executive Pastor, Senior Pastor, and others as communication needs arise.
Additional Duties / Responsibilities
Staff/Church Community Involvement: Participates in the life of the CVVC staff and church community as needed, including meeting and training attendance.
Special Projects Support: Assists with Special Projects (holidays, outreach events, etc.) as needed.
Qualifications / Work Experience A degree or certificate in communications, marketing, project management, or a related field is preferred. 1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or project management is also preferred, along with familiarity with project management tools, graphic software, web design, and photo/video production. Church staff or volunteer experience is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates should understand design and digital best practices and be able to multitask in fast-paced environments, provide direction for timelines and deliverables, with strong interpersonal skills.
