Role Summary The CAD Specialist will play a key role in the design and development of firearms, firearm components, and custom accessories. This position requires advanced proficiency in CAD software, strong attention to detail, and a passion for precision engineering. You will work closely with manufacturing, gunsmithing, and product development teams to bring innovative designs from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for firearms, suppressors, and accessories
Develop technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing and assembly
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability
Revise and update existing CAD files as needed
Support prototype development and testing
Ensure designs comply with industry and regulatory standards
Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years’ experience in CAD design (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar)
Experience with firearms or precision mechanical components preferred
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, CMC, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with ISO manufacturing standards
Experience in the firearms industry or similar regulated industry
Knowledge of Cerakote and laser engraving processes a plus
