Job Summary

The Experience Design Research Team at LPL Financial is seeking a UX Researcher to join our team. This individual will work with product managers, XD designers, and other researchers to bring innovative solutions to the hands of our advisors.

Duration: 4+ months (W2). This is a contract position based out of Austin, TX. The role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Develop research plans, workflows, user task analysis, personas, journey/experience maps, process flows, and service blueprints.
  • Lead user research through every stage of the product lifecycle—including planning and running usability studies, analyzing data, conducting heuristic evaluations, facilitating and moderating workshops, and performing low to high fidelity usability tests.
  • Present findings to cross‑functional teams and negotiate trade‑offs between business goals, technical challenges, and customer experience.
  • Coordinate and take direction from the lead researcher to the assigned area of focus.
  • Manage end‑to‑end participant engagement—including scheduling, communication, and logistics—to align with research timelines and learning goals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of user experience research experience.
  • Service (or process) blueprinting and qualitative research experience.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high‑stakes business relationships with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills—communicate research insights clearly, compellingly, and in an actionable manner.
  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charts) for analysis and representation.
  • Strong collaboration skills; thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑focused, and team‑oriented environment.
  • Experience with moderated interviews, unmoderated usability tests, surveys (Qualtrics), and foundational UX research methods.

Preferred

  • Financial services experience—especially trust services.
  • Experience with UserTesting, Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
  • Experience working in an agile/pod structure.
  • Background in cultivating strong cross‑functional partnerships aligned with business priorities.

Education

  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Information

  • Pay range: $25.00–$35.00/hr.
