Job Title
UX Researcher – Experience Design Research Team (LPL Financial)
Job Type & Location
Contract position, based out of Charlotte, NC; fully remote.
Pay and Benefits
Hourly pay: $25.00–$35.00/hr. Temporary role may include benefits such as medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident, hospital, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short and long‑term disability, HSA, transportation benefits, and employee assistance program (subject to eligibility).
Responsibilities
- Develop research plans, workflows, user task analysis, personas, journey/experience maps, process flows, and service blueprints.
- Lead user research through every stage of the product lifecycle; plan and run usability studies, analyze data, conduct heuristic evaluations, facilitate and moderate workshops, and perform low‑to‑high fidelity usability tests.
- Present findings to cross‑functional teams and negotiate trade‑offs between business goals, technical challenges, and customer experience.
- Coordinate and take direction from the lead researcher to the assigned area of focus.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of user experience research experience in complex or regulated industries.
- Experience with qualitative research methods; moderated interviews, unmoderated usability tests, surveys (Qualtrics).
- Service blueprinting or process blueprinting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charts).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; client‑focused, team‑oriented, fast‑paced learner.
- Ability to manage participant engagement, scheduling, hospitality, and logistics.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with financial services (trust experience a plus).
- Agile/pod structure experience; tools such as User Testing, Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
- Strong strategic thinking and tactical execution.
