Job Title: Instructional Designer II

Job Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to elevating compliance training through strategic consultation and immersive, performance‑driven learning solutions. As an Instructional Designer II, you will merge strategic thinking with hands‑on instructional design to deliver scalable, engaging training that aligns with regulatory and business needs.

Responsibilities

Serve as a strategic thought partner to leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders to develop learning strategies aligning training programs with compliance priorities, business goals, and learner needs.

Conduct performance analysis and needs assessments to identify learning opportunities and recommend right‑sized, scalable solutions tailored to the audience.

Translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into engaging learning experiences using evidence‑based instructional design.

Design and develop multimodal training content, including eLearning, videos, simulations, job aids, and instructor‑led materials.

Maintain design standards, templates, and scalable development processes across learning projects.

Guide the use of appropriate learning technologies and modalities to drive engagement, retention, and behavior change.

Define learning success metrics and evaluation strategies aligned to business outcomes.

Analyze training effectiveness and share insights with stakeholders to guide decision‑making and demonstrate business impact.

Manage multiple high‑impact projects with competing deadlines in a fast‑paced and ambiguous environment.

Stay current on learning science, technology trends, and compliance best practices to drive innovation and content quality.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

4+ years of experience in instructional design, training strategy, and program management.

Experience conducting performance needs assessments and developing learning strategies aligned to business goals.

Demonstrated expertise in eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate), multimedia production, and LMS administration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and project tracking tools such as Asana.

Strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end instructional design across various modalities, including Articulate Storyline examples.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or a related field.

Certifications in Instructional Design, eLearning development, or Project/Program Management.

Experience applying learning science, human performance improvement, and adult learning principles at scale.

Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience supporting global programs, including localization and translation workflows.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple high‑impact projects in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.

Work Environment This role is based in a virtual location in Washington, with a preference for Seattle or Bellevue‑based employees. However, candidates from other locations may be considered to ensure the right fit for the position. The work schedule is structured with no overtime expected, enabling a balanced work‑life integration.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 – $42.00/hr.
