Job Summary The restaurant Expeditor ensures quality and proper presentation of food in a timely manner; that food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to recipes and procedures to avoid waste; and that the line is always stocked, neat, clean and safe.
Job Responsibilities
Ensures kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner and sent out together by directing servers and/or food runners to deliver and complete the orders (Timeliness).
Maintains a brisk and steady pace, organised, with no unnecessary steps (Pace).
Ensures proper presentation of each plate and the appropriate temperature (Recipe Adherence).
Maintains the kitchen and all equipment in a “like new” condition, practising clean‑as‑you‑go (Cleanliness).
Achieves productivity metrics based on quality and quantity of work completed within a specific time period (Productivity).
Demonstrates strong organisation skills.
Stocks supplies in advance of rush periods (Think ahead).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks and balance fluctuating workload.
Ability to work and communicate well with others.
Attention to detail and initiative.
Responsible behaviour and professional image.
Positive attitude.
Safe food handling and safety as a top priority.
Team player.
Qualifications
2 years of work or related experience preferred.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends and holidays.
